Experienced and Prominent Divorce Lawyer
Whether the issues involved are contested or uncontested, divorce has a significant personal, financial and emotional impact. I opened the Law Office of Lynne A. Weitzel P.C. to provide honest, straightforward legal advice and representation to Coloradans seeking a divorce.
I have extensive experience negotiating issues involving child custody, child support and visitation/parenting time. Sometimes, unfortunately, kids are turned into pawns at a time when protection of the children’s best interest should be the primary objective. I will work closely with you on an individual basis to help meet your and your child’s best interest. If we cannot resolve all child issues through mediation or arbitration, however, then I have the necessary courtroom experience and strategy skills required to aggressively represent my client’s interests in the courtroom.
I also recognize that asset and property division often plays a significant role in determining whether a divorce dispute can be resolved amicably. Most of my clients have joint personal bank accounts and retirement accounts. These accounts may contain separate property and/or marital property. I have substantial practice working with forensic accountants to ensure that property settlements and spousal support/maintenance/alimony decisions are based on the values of all marital assets and income.
After graduating from Tulane Law School in Louisiana in 1994, I settled in the Denver area. Over the course of the next nine years, I worked for two prestigious law firms in the Metro area. In 2004 I opened my own practice focusing solely on family law.
I have been admitted to the Colorado Bar, the United States District Court, District of Colorado, and the United States Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit.
I belong to or have been involved with the Better Business Bureau; American Bar Association; Colorado Bar Association, Family Law Section; Arapahoe Bar Association; Metropolitan Denver Interdisciplinary Committee, 2004 Board Member; and the Ethics Committee of the Colorado Bar Association.
